Dominik Marz – For All Time EP

Our busy Bavarian boy Dominik Marz makes a hard hitting return on Feines Tier with his new „For All Time“ EP. Such a title demands for big emotions, big synths, big breaks, and naturally Dominik brings them all! With his trademark sense for stripped-down on-the-nose drum patterns paired with in-your-face bass riffs and laser-focused sample usage he makes sure to bring any dancefloor to that rolling boiling Marz level. You know, that collective state of consciousness where nobody really knows when it actually began and everybody hopes for it never to stop with the perpetual urge to raise your hands and scream some undefined sounds of joy. We could go through the individual tracks and explain what makes each of them great, but better simply dive in yourselves, as with this one, you can’t really miss anyway!

Bryan Kessler – An Idea Of What We Could Be If We Were Not Ourselves EP

The next installment on Feines Tier is being delivered by none other than musician, poet and enfant terrible extraordinaire Bryan Kessler and boy, does he deliver indeed, giving us „An Idea Of What We Could Be If We Were Not Ourselves“. And however you might decode this idea personally (as it is brought to us in the language of music), it is certainly a precisely shaped one. All over the EP Bryan is bringing the goods with his signature raw-yet-meticuosly-arranged production style introducing sudden flashes of ecstasy, be it with some surprise trancy synth stabs (on the title track), red-herring-piano-chords („Forgot to Forget“) or raunchy sax samples („Fingernails and Breakfast“). As you already might’ve noticed by now, Bryan is also on top of his naming game, giving us the (un-)aptly named „Minimal Sucks Hard“, which contains a hard-hitting beat that reads like a Kessleresque variation of a Rominimal House tune. So to give you a summarizing evaluation of the countless ideas flowing around in this EP: When in doubt, go Kessler!

John Parsley – Panipuri EP

Swiss connaisseur John Parsley shares some of his delicious recipes with us with his new „Panipuri EP“. As John puts it himself, these tracks mark the beginning of a new era for him, having „still playful, but a bit more tidy production with a bigger focus on sound design than ever before. It’s the new sound for the alternative dancefloor, dreamy, cheerful, full of groove – more than just BumzBumzBumz“. And well… we concur!

Look no further than the opener „Tejido“ with its trippy layerings of percussions, synths and vocals thrown into cubby echo chambers. „Der Zweite Tag“ picks up the pace and delivers a slightly more streamlined version of this intriguing mixture. The title track reduces the tempo again and sends us sliding down the rabbit hole in slow motion letting bubbling synth apps swirl around our heads, which makes us wonder if there might be some special psychedelic ingredients in John’s very own Panipuri recipe. „Cafesito“ is a collaboration with producer Eli LiNE and weaves off into breakbeat territories but sonically connects to the rest of the EP with its seductive synth and vocal snippets. Closing off the EP is a remix by Cornelius Doctor, who elegantly turns „Cafesito“ into a subtle beast for the peakier times of the night.

Megaphonim – After of Disaster Remixes EP

After last year’s highly acclaimed Namal Ashdod EP, we hereby follow it up with three new Megaphonim remixes.
The remixer’s names Marvin & Guy, Rina x Benji and Uriah Klapter speak for themselves giving you a a bit of Acid and Disco on the one hand and an extra portion of that off-kilter energy on the other. And yeah, you got that right: It’s „After of Disaster“!

Ditian – Strange Pleasure EP

Our first original artist Ep of ´23 comes from Argentinean super talent Ditian, known for his output on labels like Innervisions and Exit Strategy among others. He delivers two dark yet emotionally charged rollers ready to melt your brain on the dancefloor. Ditian himself says this EP is about „bittersweet bursts of lucid images in our memory“, and you can really feel that on the first track „Strange Pleasure“. Beautiful tear-jerking melodies alternate and co-exist with more abstract sounds and create this unique mood hard to put into words, but amazing to experience. „Foxia“ is the darker, more dystopian one of the two, with its dissonant lead sounds and drony bass layers. Yet also here the production has a certain warmth to it, that might keep you from abandoning all hope. Or, as Ditian puts it, finding „pleasure in those things that when we remember them, strangely reward us in various ways, moments that have been recorded with an admirable fidelity. Say without speaking, just feel.
